Voigtlander Announces Nokton 40mm f/1.2 Asperical Fullframe E-mount Lens

Voigtlander has officially announced the manual focus Nokton 40mm f/1.2 Asperical FE Lens ($1,099). Like other Voigtlander E-mount lenses including the recently announced Voigtlander 65mm f/2 Macro APO-Lanthar, this manual focus lens transmits EXIF lens data to the camera allowing Auto IBIS image stabilization with Sony a9, a7 Series Mark II cameras and Sony a6500.

Its impressively fast f/1.2 maximum aperture enables control over depth of field for shallow depth of field images as well as shooting in low light. Optical design features two aspherical elements to suppress spherical aberrations and distortion for notable sharpness, clarity, and accurate rendering. The lens’s manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 1.1′ away, and a Selective Aperture Control System allows you to de-click the manual aperture ring for smooth, silent exposure adjustment to suit filmmaking applications.
