If your camera successfully updated to Ver. 3.00, you may continue using it without issue.
UPDATE 9/13/24: Sony has suspended a7R V Firmware Update 3.00 after some users reported their camera failed to start-up after installing the version 3.00 update. The update has been pulled from the support website while Sony engineers investigate the cause. When update conflicts have happened up in the past, it boiled down to a single camera setting that needs to be changed before updating. If you already updated without a hitch – you’re fine. Sony engineers just have to figure out which of the myriad of camera setting is causing the conflict.
Sony a7R V Firmware Update 3.00 adds major transfer & streaming process plus other functional enhancements. The update is performed via the memory card firmware update process.

Thank you so much for the update info and a way to download. How other than your team would we know other than to every month go to Sony web site and log in to each camera we may have and look for up dates.
One thing I would like you to know is your wrote and published those great books back in the beginning of the Sony A7 models I continue to look through and even try to do some of the little tricks you did with the very first to see if they till will work with the newest cameras.
just a not about this resent update, I really do not know what I did wrong But I was using Google’s internet browser and set the download location and it was taking forever with the download indicator under it’s icon running but after the download icon at top stopped but checking the folder location showed file not complete. So I stopped it by exiting all browsers and went to another and within a minute the download finished in the download basic folder I did not get to direct the location to put it in but went into a default location for the computer. but I was able to copy and put in a file location I wanted it at for future loading on the newly formatted SD card. Maybe it was a stopping from a access spyware program that stopped it. But just let someone know if the download takes like forever even in the middle of the download with info of how many MP already in the uncomplete file stop, reset all and go to another Browser maybe. First time this has happened, I even just last week downloaded the two updates for A7SM3 and two lens updates and all downloaded fine and fast and the updates worked fine.
Greetings Ed. I hadn’t timed it, so I just downloaded again. I used Safari over a WiFi connection and the update downloaded in 70 seconds. Obviously connection speed is the key – a hardwire connection to my router would have been faster than WiFi. You might check your security settings – but it’s also possible that a LOT of people were attempting to download at the same time as you which could potentially cause a bottleneck on Sony’s server.
Thank You for the reply. I am using a direct connect, just something with blockers I think no big deal just want others to be aware in case it just ran on and on.
