Wimberley AP-609 Quick Release Replacement Foot for Sony FE 400 f/2.8 GM OSS Lens

If you’re a proud new owner of the FE 400 f/2.8 GM OSS lens, you might want to pick up a Wimberley AP-609 Quick Release Replacement Foot ($79 at B&H Photo | Amazon).

Not only will this replacement foot fit directly into any Arca-Swiss compatible quick release plate, but my fellow Sony Artisan Colby Brown noticed that its low-profile results in over an inch of depth reduction verses the stock lens collar foot.

Product Highlights

• Arca-Type Compatible Replacement Foot
• Anodized 6061 Aluminum
• Provides Rigidness and Stability
• Reduces Flex and Vibration
• Lower Profile Provides Better Balance

  1. Is it possible to buy the companies you have relations to? I have waited too long for the 400mm lens and cannot understand why this lens has arrived us here in Scandinavia. We need the lens far more than anywhere else in the world because of the darkness from now and til the sun comes back again in the middle of february!

    1. Hi Alf, nobody has the lens in stock. It’s shipping worldwide to fulfill pre-orders – but the demand is HUGE and there are only so many lenses that Sony can produce in a day.

    2. Hi Alf, Yea, I made my preorder 25 of July here in Sweden and expected it at the end of September or early October and now we are the middle of November almost, and not a word or hint on when to expect it.

  2. “Sony Artisan Colby Brown noticed a 1-1.25″ depth savings verses the stock lens collar foot.”

Is that with or without an Arca Swiss plate on the stock lens collar foot?
