  1. Both are great deals. Had the A7R IV first that did great captures then went A7RV mainly for the AF and all the things it would AF on not really so much the MP amount for I started with the A7SM1 and know it is not so much the high MP amount but what the camera will capture. But after using for birding and such and cropping more I understand a little more. For my first time I did the Focus Stacking and was shocked at how easy it is, I did some flowers in a vase from front to back and yes took almost 150 images but PS did great with all but when I went save the file was too big and had to change to another form to save to Lrc and it did. I tell this for the resent firmware for the A7SM3 just added Focus Stacking and being just a 12MP camera your files are smaller, The thing is remember your SD card size for the first thing I thought of for both of my A7RV and A7SM3 so I got the Sony Tough 320GB CF no problems yet. The reason I say all this is if your looking for night Astro Milky Way both will get the same image just a need faster SS with the A7RV and even faster if using a fast lens like a 1.4 or 1.8 it makes for a faster capture and faster MW Panorama of way under 90s. I add I have the new 100mm Macro lens on order so now I can choose what camera to use. Another feature of the A7RV is the Pixel Shift that can be done hand holding (if you are steady) to get a 100+ MP image if you need it, tried once was easy. I am just a hobbyist so no one genre for me for I like to play with what I think about or see interesting. Last I found the A7RV and A7SM3 to be able to bracket 5 at +/- 2EV even in Blue Hour capture after a sunset and Hand Held meaning no need to carry a tripod when out and about for that spot and capture time, I learned of with my old A7RM2! Sony will make you happier for longer times…..
