  1. A bazooka of a lens, got mine a year or so ago. Believe it or not it also has great bokeh with shine off the water out of focus. With the 2x teleconverter you get a full frame moon in APS-C mode and nice and sharp!!! Learn how to use it at the zoo, get full frame bird shots no cropping needed. It will fit in a fishing tackle bag with all teleconverters and with Sigma to Sony adapter will fit in bag that comes with it. To aid in carrying get a heavy duty binocular harness attached to tripod point (helps to shoot birds or planes over head) when not in use it hangs comfortably. AWESOME lens, works with all focus modes of A7 cameras better with A7S with 1.4x and 2x teleconverters (for some reason)!!!!

  2. Hi Brian, I must say you have such an amazing site. It’s the go to place for me on a daily basis! Quick question: I own Nikon, Canon and Sony bodies. Is the functionality (AF, etc) as good if I bought the Canon mount version of a Sigma lens and then use the MC11 adapter or should I better buy the Sony version with the “natively” modified mount? thanks a lot!

    best,

    Anh

    1. Sigma says they can achieve better AF with their native FE vs adapted EF mounts, however at this time they are only releasing Art lenses in Full Frame E-Mount – not this lens.
