  1. I have the latest update for Lightroom and am trying to tether it to my Sony a7ii. In Lightroom, I keep on getting the error message: ‘Camera not detected’. How can I fix this? Thank you.

    1. Nothing new. Lightroom has NEVER supported native Sony tethering. Period.

You can use Sony’s Remote Camera Control software if you don’t mind it’s klunky interface.

BUT the best option for tethering is Capture One Pro 9 (for Sony) which costs $50/50 Euro (or $45/45 Euro with this code: AMBSMITH)

  2. The same for me, but I can see the photo with a text saying There was an error working with the photo.

      1. From this thread, I conclude that the Sony A7 ii can produce uncompressed RAW and Sony RAW, am I correct? I’m having issues with my A7 ii RAW files in Lightroom despite upgrading to 5.7.1, could you point me in the right direction?

  3. Hi Brian,
lightroom 5.7.1 doesn’t open uncompressed ARW files at all or there’s a solution? Maybe the CC version works? The compressed files are loseless? In post production there are some significant differences between compressed and uncompressed?
    Thank you very much

  4. Brian, I have noted sever chromatic abberation in portraits since buying my a7rii and I’m having getting rid of it with post processing. Lightroom lens profile doesn’t modify it at all. Is it a camera issue or lens? I’m using 55mm 1.8 lens. Are there any camera settings that will help?

    1. Lightroom doesn’t read manufacturer lens corrections because Thomas Knoll believes the Adobe Camera Raw team writes better profiles than the camera manufacturers (and I agree 100%). Simply enable lens profile corrections in Lightroom to get the Adobe Camera Raw profiles – or switch to Capture One for Sony to get the manufacturer profiles (provided you enable them in the camera menu)

  5. I can import sony a7ii files into LR 6, but some of them appear with an exclamation point telling me i cannot modify or change in any way …. also, my computer does not reveal the files in picture form, only the file names? do i need a converter app to do so?
