Good news for any of you looking for third-party NP-FZ100 replacement batteries. Readers of this blog tell me that Upgraded RAVPower NP-FZ100 Batteries ($59.95 for two battery + charger kit from Amazon) meet compliance with Sony a7 III, a7R III & a9.
The only complaint I’ve received is that RAVPower batteries drain more quickly than OEM Sony batteries
PLEASE NOTE: I only use original Sony NP-FZ100 batteries – but if you’re determined to buy third-party replacement batteries – please stick to batteries that comply!
Specs:
• Upgraded Compatibility: Made to the updated SONY NP-FZ100 battery, compatible with new Sony firmware 2.0, Sony Alpha A7III, A7R III, A7R3, A9 and Alpha 9
• 3 ways to charge: features wall, car, and Power bank charging – all three chargers sold separately; recharge inside the camera or with a 2a input charger for optimal charging
• Backup battery: carry a fully charged battery so you’re never left without power; only 5 hours to simultaneously recharge both batteries with the Micro-USB 5V/2a input
• 100% safety : protected with Overcharge, over discharge, short-circuit, Surge, overvoltage, and overcurrent safeguards, and a fire-resistant build

I have two of these batteries and have been using them since last summer.
Recently I’ve started getting the following message after the camera boots up:
“The operation and safety of this battery cannot be guaranteed; Continue Use?”
If I allow, it seems to work fine, if I select cancel, the camera turns off.
Using FW 3.10.
