The only thing that video convinced me of is that those two shouldn’t be doing tech reviews.
They brought up valid points that anyone considering these cameras should be aware of.
Well I think they did a really great job with this video.

i don’t think a sony artisan, who NEVER TOUCHED himself that PROTOTYPE camera, can put a statement such as “The camera they tested missed focus most of the time, it’s not a D850 etc”… so biased! money rules it, huh?

The crucial thing here is what’s between the brackets (pre-production) as well as the fact that the cameras are using firmware version 0.5 (I would wait for vers 1 before casting judgment)….note the use of brackets again. Equally the fact that you are a Sony ambassador Brian 🙂
This pains me. I recently picked up a Pentax K-1 for landscape/astro work, and while I love it, I’m enticed by the Z7. It looks like it’d be a good compromise between the heavy/bulky K-1 and a smaller camera, especially for work that will have me backpacking the camera. Plus, mirrorless really is damn nice for night/astro (focusing stars, in my experience, is easier with a mirrorless). I’m not committed to a system (everything I have for the Pentax I can return for full refund at this point), but the newness of the Z7… the lack of maturity of the Nikon mirrorless is a concern (offset by the FTZ a bit though).
So torn…..
A7R III offers a lot more at a lower price…
