  1. i don’t think a sony artisan, who NEVER TOUCHED himself that PROTOTYPE camera, can put a statement such as “The camera they tested missed focus most of the time, it’s not a D850 etc”… so biased! money rules it, huh?

  2. The crucial thing here is what’s between the brackets (pre-production) as well as the fact that the cameras are using firmware version 0.5 (I would wait for vers 1 before casting judgment)….note the use of brackets again. Equally the fact that you are a Sony ambassador Brian 🙂

This pains me. I recently picked up a Pentax K-1 for landscape/astro work, and while I love it, I’m enticed by the Z7. It looks like it’d be a good compromise between the heavy/bulky K-1 and a smaller camera, especially for work that will have me backpacking the camera. Plus, mirrorless really is damn nice for night/astro (focusing stars, in my experience, is easier with a mirrorless). I’m not committed to a system (everything I have for the Pentax I can return for full refund at this point), but the newness of the Z7… the lack of maturity of the Nikon mirrorless is a concern (offset by the FTZ a bit though).

    So torn…..
