Tamron has released 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD lens Firmware Update Ver.2 to correct autofocus issues with Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras when the range of focus search distance is broad, in video recording mode. The firmware update is available through Sony E-mount camera bodies.

Good morning Brian Smith…the link to B&H for this lens is broken.
Thanks for the heads up, Steve. It’s fixed now.
Ummm… the update didn’t work for me. I have latest Mac OS 10.13.5 and notes say it’s supported up to 10.12. That’s not good..
Blame Apple for that.
They’re essentially blocked using Mac for firmware updates beginning with 10.13.
Sony 10.13 Driver Uploader works for most Sony FW Updates but I suspect 10.14 will find a way to block that…
I just updated the lens with the driver loader open, connecting camera, the launching Tamron’s updater. Everything went smoothly. Running Mac 10.13.4 connected to A7III. Thanks for the heads up!
I updated last week and since then the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 has a soft focus issue (in foto mode) beginning at around 60mm all the way up to 75mm. That’s no good. Has anyone similar problems?
