Sony E PZ 18-105mm F4 G Lens Firmware Update v04

Sony E PZ 18-105mm F4 G Lens Firmware Update v04

Sony has released Firmware Update v04 for the Sony E PZ 18-105mm F4 G lens that improves focus tracking speed and accuracy.

This utility updates the SELP18105G lens system software to version 04 to provide improvements to the focus tracking accuracy and stability.

If you have not already updated your SELP18105G lens to system software version 03, this utility also improves the tracking accuracy of the focus position in the zoom stop control when you use the zoom operation in MF setting, and adds the function to set a zoom rotatory direction using a menu displayed on the screen of the camera.

IMPORTANT: The lens must be attached to an E-mount body camera to perform this update.

Note: The NEX-5, NEX-3, NEX-C3, NEX-VG10, and PXW-FS7 model cameras cannot be used for this update.

    1. No it is not. Lens firmware updates are separate from camera firmware. The good news is that lens firmware updates take less than a minute and a very straight forward. Just follow the instructions in the link from this post.

  1. Anybody have an idea how to limit this lens to optical zoom only? On my a6500 I really only shoot at 6mp to keep files small and handy, but doing so makes it nearly impossible to zoom in without activating digital zoom when you even so much as approach 105mm

I’m using v1.05 body firmware and v04 lens firmware
