At last a very affordable alternative to Sony’s GM let’s hope a longer focal length follows and that the ensuing reviews are favorable
Adding a low cost option is most certainly a great thing for those on a budget. I do need to point out that there are significant differences between this lens and the Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS particularly when it comes to AF. While the Sony GM uses Dual XD Linear focus actuators for extremely fast and accurate AF, Sigma uses a single stepping motor actuator that’s a holdover from DSLR lens technology. The latter is much cheaper to produce but not nearly as responsive.
