The photo is from one of our many shoots of The Donald. It was originally shot for New York magazine a couple decades ago at his Palm Beach mansion. Here’s the story behind it…
While scouting his Palm Beach mansion, Mar-a-Lago, for our shoot of Donald Trump, we spotted a pair of massive poolside swan fountains. We immediately envisioned an angelic Trump, decked out all in white and sitting on the swan so that it looked like he was wearing angel wings. What could be more fun than transforming Trump into one of God’s heavenly messengers?
Without hesitation, my wife and stylist, Fazia Ali, called the store where she’d reserved Trump’s clothes for the shoot, canceled all the wardrobe she had lined up. Instead she asked for every white suit they had in his size. The next day we showed up at Mar-a-Lago with eight white suits. When Trump showed up, he took one look at his wardrobe and said, “I’ve always wanted to do a shoot in a white suit. Don’t you think I’ll look good in a white suit?”
As it turned out, he did look good in a white suit. And he loved the look so much he even bought the suit!
