looks great. Useful for timelapses
is this weather sealed?
Unless it says so in the product description, I doubt it.
I assume this would work on A7Rii?
Yes, a7II vertical grips and L-Plates are compatible with a7RII cameras.
Is this exactly the same as the Meike just different name on it?
That’s quite possible.
Is this the same as the grip for the original A7r. I am selling my A7r and wonder if I should sell the grip too and need to buy a newer neewer grip LOL
No. Mark II bodies are a bit deeper for the 5-Axis IS and have a better beefier grip, so you must use the mark 2 vertical grip with Mark 2
Can I use this grip with the Sony LA-EA4 lens adapter?
Never tried that combination but I don’t know why not…though the tripod screw in the adapter might be a bit hard to reach…
Can I use this grip on the sony a7?
No. You need this Neewer Vertical Battery Grip for Sony a7 a7R a7S
Thank you for the blazing fast answer! Your work is awesome!
can i use remote without vertical grip?
Nope.
This works for the A7sII correct?
Yes, it’s compatible with all Sony a7 Mark II Series cameras.
would you recommend this? I don’t see any side by side comparrison with the Sony made grip
I’d go with the Sony VG-C2EM Vertical Battery Grip for A7II.
Can we charge the Batteries inside the grip by USB (in the camera). Using A7R2
No
I do not understand how the wireless transmitter can trigger the shutter in a a7r2 since it is not wireless and I would think needs a connector to the Sony multi terminal.
It uses the IR port in the front of camera
Looks good, indeed – and numerous feed-back comments on Amazon sound positive, as well –
my question is, though, with the grip attached, does the sony adapter for A-mount lenses LA-EA4, still fit, too ? or might it get tight down there at the bottom ?
Vertical grips match the shape of the body so if it fits on the body – it fits on the body + vertical grip.
well then… off I go to Amazon… 🙂
thanks muchly, Brian
I’ve read several reviews on the Meike and people have reported on battery drain issues even when the grip is not in use. Has anyone here experienced the same with this grip?
Has any manufacturer developed a VG wich includes the rear wheel?. I don’t know how to select the AF point when vertical composing.
The Rear Wheel falls in almost exactly the same position when held vertically with a vertical grip as it does horizontally.
do the buttons work similar to the contol wheel?
No, the Control Wheel on the camera back is not duplicated – just the front & real dial, AF/MF and C3 Buttons
