What about the a7ii?
Not yet.
I now have positive confirmation from Sony that the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is already supported with a7II FW Update 3.10

A7s Link takes you to A7 firmware. Took me a long time to realise why I couldn’t update my camera.
Sorry about that. Thanks for letting me know. The link has been corrected.
Hello Brian! I have a quick question about all Sony firmware updates. I noticed in your post that it states ” improved AF” but it only seems to be for specific, newer lenses that Sony has come out with. Do you find that the overall AF has improved for all lenses? I have done 0 updates in the time i have had this camera, I’m losing hope that anything can fix the AF problem, as I take pictures of flowers/ landscape and the AF really affects my photos.
That’s one of those release notes that’s rather hard to quantify. It generally relates to tracking, but not always. Most Focus errors are from using the wrong focus method – such as Flexible Spot Small which is honestly too small to me useful.
Hello Brian,
I bought a secondhand ILCE-7Kit which was not updated over the years.
I now just updated the a7 and the sel2870 with firmware update 3.20.
Could You please send me a file with all the updated items because I can’t find it at the Sony site? I found that several default settings have changed and do not match the manual anymore.

On the page you downloaded the update a description of previous updates is linked under the heading “Benefits provided by previous versions and included in this update”
Hi Brian
Not sure if you can help me. I have an A7 which I really l love. I use only manual lenses on my A7 (I really like old lenses) but sometimes would like to be able use auto focus (eg when street shooting). I was looking at the Techart Autofocus adapter and was wondering if this new firmware upgarde would allow me to use that bit of kit as I see the firmware upgrade includes PDAF which I understand is required by the adapter. Many thanks
The original Sony a7 had PDAF – BUT only for native E-mount lenses.
Sony a7 II was the first Sony camera to add PDAF for adapted glass and is well worth the upgrade.
Is the first generation (Mk1) A7S supported in this firmware update?
As the headline says…
Thank you for all your valuable info
I have a A7III camera with Windows 7
I’m trying to update from firmware 21. to the current 3.2
The update software doesn’t recognise my camera. Sony told me it’s because i’m not using a SONY usb cable. Didn’t sound right.
Anyway amazing, it worked with firmware upgrade 3.1 Amazing. I had to find this out myself. Sony just had no idea.
3.2 upgrade still doesn’t work
Any ideas?
Thank you for your valuable time
Yea. Simple.
This link is an update for a7, a7R & a7S – not a7 III.
Hi Brian,
I have an A7, but when I click the download button for the updated system software, nothing happens. Can you verify this link actually works from Sony? I am on version 3.10 and need to upgrade so I can use the Play Memories app for remote shutter.
Looks like in the four years since I posted this, Sony changed the links. I’ve updated the links for all three cameras.
