One of the biggest requests after the Sony a7R was released was a larger grip. Each generation grew a bit until what we have today.

CameraSize comparisons show that in the four generations between Sony a7R & a7R IV the grip has grown 1.1 inch (61%) deeper in response to user feedback.

While at the same time, Sony A7R IV is only 0.07″ wider and 0.08″ taller than Sony A7R.

  1. Yes and you feel as soon as you take up the camera, almost like holding the a99, feels a lot more solid without being to large, and works a lot better with longer lenses. Just love it.
