  1. The Very Best Beginners Lens! I have the ROKINON AF 14MM F2.8 FE LENS and it is really a lot better than the previous 14mm f/2.8. It has the chip and connectors so you get lens info in your Metadata (Bravo finally). AF is a plus also. I use it on my A7S and A7M3 for night photography (but great for daytime Landscapes) and it brings in a lot light at f/2.8. If you look back to 2014 the Rokinon/Samyang 14 f/2.8 was the widest and fastest AND LOWEST in price lens for Astro Milky Way that everyone used, for you get a smaller Galactic Center/Dark Horse Nebula and a streaming Snake across the sky even when the Milky Way is low like a rising orange moon without doing a panorama with a 24mm or more (the normal wide angles of the past). Yes in the film days Canon had a FD 14mm f/2.8 as well as other makers that got you a lot of light. The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 has been the boss of the night ultra wide angle BUT no one but Lightroom had a lens correction (even today) not till early 2016. It has mustache lens distortion where it comes to rise on the left or right if shooting a horizon. Also if capturing stars they will be small and elongated in a circle like in the upper right/left center but not using the 500 rule of 36 sec. but 11 sec. it will be less noticeable and stopping down to f/4. Knowing this you will not be upset when you see it. All is fixable now with PP software. The pluses ultra wides are expensive at f/2.8 or faster and they have problems too because of the physics of light travel through glass. People will call this lens Cheap because of the low price but it has Value for the money (even now lower in price) and will last for years. If you want to see the stars at night over a valley and with the Milky Way this is a great lens and if you want to do a landscape that looks like a panorama but in 3:2 aspect using f/11-f/16 for sharpness it is great. And for grins the 12mm f/2.8 fisheye is even great because Lr have that lens correction for an even wider night sky (used to have to use Fisheye Hemi). Value is the key for a photographer thanking the software kids. Lastly do a portrait view 180 degree pano of just 7 shots 50% coverage early in the Milky Way season Feb to May to get a rainbow Milky Way over your foreground object without worry of parallax with pin point stars.
