Following up on the success of their hugely popular battery-powered TTL B1 and B2 flash heads, Profoto announces the AC powered D2 1000 AirTTL Monolight. Building on the foundation of their popular D1, this light maxes-out the D1 performance specs while adding wireless TTL from the B1 and B2. With the D2.

“Speed” is the operative word. D2 is almost twice as fast as its predecessor and capable of 20 flash-per-second bursts. That’s fast enough to catch the best of any moment. The D2 can provide super quick flash durations up to 1/63,000 of a second. Shoot a splash of water, and it will be frozen in midair.

Other features include wireless TTL with the separately purchased Air Remote TTL-C for Canon and TTL-N for Nikon, (Sorry Sony users still waaaaaaiting for a Sony TTL Remote) action-freezing flash durations and High Speed Sync support up to 1/8000 sec.
