Bill Claff of PhotonsToPhotos measured Sony a7R V Dual Gain Native ISOs and found Native ISO 100 with a second gain kicking in at ISO 320. It’s not a surprise this is identical to a7R IV since both cameras share the same Sony 61MP Full-Frame Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor.
What’s this mean? In very simple terms you’ll get best image quality at ISO 100, but if you need to bump the ISO a bit higher you’ll get better image quality at ISO 320 than ISO 250.
