Do you think the old 70-200 2.8 gm will get at least 60fps?
Yes, why would the original 70-200 2.8 gm not be supported?
Its not in the list for 120fps… 🙁
The ten-year-old FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS is one of the original four FE lenses which used rotational stepping motors. The FE 70-200mm GM OSS II updated to much faster XD linear AF.
was shocked to see my f1.4 85mm GM prime not supported and also the mk1 70-200
i asssume they will still hit 60 though ?
atleast my 200-600 i use at sport will do 120
Not sure why anyone would be surprised that the FE 85mm F1.4 GM or 1st generation FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS are not compatible with 120 FPS. They both use rotational stepping motors before Sony moved on to XD linear focus motors. The shocking part is that many third-party lenses are still rolling out rotational stepping motors in 2023…
The 85 does 20fps, but the 70-200 does 30fps on A1… so i was thinking that will be able to do 120fps 🙁 maybe 60fps its possible…
They’ll both be able to shoot 120 FPS – the question is how fast they can shoot with AF/AE tracking. That may not be faster than it is on ALpha 1 with those two lenses. Both were released prior to XD Linear AF.
