  1. I hate to even ask this, both cameras are Mod 2’s and both are really great, I know for I have both also, like few will know this but either will do 3 at +/- 2EV hand held also very few know about the apps that can be loaded on either camera no longer available for buying and just a little left time this year August 31, 2025 to download if you bought them and put on any Mod 1 or 2 camera in the past. From the beginning of the Mod 1 cameras if you went to Sony’s website for a camera you bought not only for updates but there was info on downloading Capture One for just $30’s and a web help page that you could save to your browser bar for fast help to understand ho things worked. But also a link to the Playmemories web site https://www.playmemoriescameraapps.com/portal/
Most in store rep’s never knew about the Apps and one day I was in BestBuy just to see what was available and got to talking to the Sony sales person about things Sony but I asked if he knew about the on camera apps and he looked me and said what? I went out to my car and got my A7SM1 and showed him all the apps I had on it and he looked at the website at all, some even free. Well he went and got a A7RM2 and was going to download them.
Many of the apps take the place of external devices but one I use a lot still is the “Digital Filter” updated version that is preprogramed for sunsets but is really handy for Milky Way capture over a city/town all lit up. Besides that you can use it for a number of things and not having to carry around a bunch of filters/ filter holders when out and about. Also a Lens corrector that you could save and select when ever.
The sad thing is I was in a U.S. Army PX and I saw a brand new in the box A7RM2 and A7M2 what was sad is it was after you could buy any of the apps. Many are just play things, The main thing is they help to learn the many things about photography.
If these cameras had also the apps on them that would be a bonus like making the cameras made with all available things at the time you could buy it new!
On Reddit there is info on how to download to your computer off your camera for safety in case you want to reset the camera.

    1. Bids in this auction are clearly based on the ability to own items once belonging to director David Lynch. His director chair is one of my favorite items – but too rich for my blood.
