  1. Great news. However, the add-on is not (yet?) available in my country (The Netherlands). Am I too eager, or will it not arrive?

      1. And a day later still no ‘Transfer & Tagging add-on’, but I see a Movie Edit add-on. Could it be that the availability is different across the globe?

        1. Hello Jeroen, I have the answer to your question. Every country has an agency that regulates mobile devices and apps that run on them. In the United States this is done by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Every nation has their own version of this. Apps are not available in your country until the app is approved by regulators in your country.

  2. Just updated the app, was able to connect to the a7iii, but it would not stay connected.

    Not plug n play, yet.

Guess I’ll have to re-read all the doc’s and give it another try. First impression=not good enough to release it.

  3. Are there any improvements over the latest version of PlayMemories? If not, as PlayMemories has been very stable for me, I think I will stick with what I know works.

      1. It is a simple app but does the one thing I need. It allows me to shoot the camera without touching it and preview my composition via the phone’s live view. The controls are basic but I have work arounds. Wish it I could focus with it, get the GPS to work, and adjust AF modes.

  4. Hello Briansmith, I’m told from Sony EU that the app, Transfer & Tagging add-on, is not available in Europe, a very big penalty, I expect it.
Could you send it via wetranfer or a download link that does not pass through iTunes?
    Best regards

    1. It’s a MOBILE APP, Cesar. It lives on iOS or Android devices. Every country has an agency that regulates mobile devices and apps that run on them. In the United States this is done by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Every nation has their own version of this. Apps are not available in your country until the app is approved by regulators in your country.

  5. Interesting. The app didn’t auto update so I deleted and redownloaded. Now I can’t get the app to connect to my camera using NFC. IPhone X and A7r3

  6. Hi Brian,
I bought a Huawei P30 Pro phone as well as a Sony RX 10 Mk IV. I tried to download Imaging EDge Mobile app but it is not available in Namibia. I see you say my country first has to okay it. Is there any other application I can use? At the moment all I need to do is to transfer selected pictures from the camera to the phone.

    1. Every country must approve mobile apps. Until Namibia does so, Sony cannot make the app available. Maybe you can fin a SD card reader for your phone and transfer images that way.
