    1. So Brian does this mean I sell my M mount and run out to get this?? Have you played with it yet… or the 12 or 10

    2. Brian, is this optically identical to the M mount version, even identical coatings? I ask b/c I tried the M mount version last year on an infrared modified A7R and while I loved the lens, it had a hotspot problem. Would jump at opportunity to get a hotspot free model though.

      1. Supposedly their are minor optical adjustments meant to optimize the lens for the thickness of Sony’s cover glass meant to improve optical performance on a7 series cameras in that regard. I’m not certain that would translate on an IR modified camera.

      I hope Sony appreciates the fact that you are the best ambassador and informant for their cameras and lenses. I have found your information to be very useful. I would consider this lens a great ultra wide prime for backpacking in the mountains.
