Firmware Update 1.10 for Sony A7II cameras has been released to improve the functionality of 5-Axis Image Stabilization in Sony A7II cameras. (Click Here to Download)

Important Notes:

This utility is only for use with Sony A7II [ILCE-7M2] cameras. Do not install this utility with any other model.

WARNING!!: This Digital Camera System Software Update and any changes incurred by it are permanent. It is not possible to return to a previous firmware version after updating this firmware. By continuing this update process, downloading and updating this firmware, you acknowledge that you are aware and understand that this update cannot be reversed.

IMPORTANT: Do not allow the computer to enter Sleep (Standby) mode during the update process. To change your settings, please refer to your computer manual or consult the manufacturer.

When performing the System Software Update, use a FULLY CHARGED NP-FW50 rechargeable battery pack, or the AC-PW20 AC adapter/charger (sold separately). WARNING!!: The camera may not operate properly if the power is interrupted during the update.

Use only the USB cable supplied with the camera. IMPORTANT: Update functionality is not guaranteed with any other USB cable.

To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and CLOSE ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS!!! ALL OF THEM – ESPECIALLY EMAIL!!!

It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

MAC OS 10.10 YOSEMITE USERS PLEASE NOTE:

The new Mac Yosemite OS X requires you download and install Mac OS X 10.10 Driver Loader kernel extension prior to downloading and installing the actual firmware update. This utility installs the necessary application needed for software updates if you are running Mac OS X 10.10 – NOT needed for earlier versions of Mac OS.

Just be sure to read the step-by-step directions very carefully and pay attention to my warnings above. Don’t get distracted during the process – please shut down all other applications!

    1. There is a work around for Yosemite users posted on the Sony UK site that involves downloading a kernal patch first – then the update will run on 10.10. I’m told that works great but cannot test it since I aleady updated all my cameras with OS 10.9

  1. i ended up phoning sony alpha for help, and helper had me download this driver (DL100_1411a.dmg) and not use my model number for my markII. who would ever know that? she told me to share this information with you.
    after about 15 hours trying to figure out what was wrong, the wifi download finally works.

        1. That’s definitely feedback that I will pass along to Sony. I’m still running OS 10.9 because of incompatibilities with other apps – but the updates should not be this difficult.
