      1. thanks for the reply Brian – It’s a step in the right direction, but, on the a7r2 this would leave huge files in 14-bit uncompressed. I know it’s being picky but I’d like to see something like nikon have with the choice of lossy OR lossless compression in 12-bit too. I believe there aren’t many camera’s that can take full advantage of 14-bit certainly at anything other than base ISO.

        That said I’ve not seen any issues with the sony raw format as-is in over 100k frames using the a7s, a7-ii and a7r2

        As a secondary point does the a7s2 also have the min. shutter speed options the a7r2 has? and will this be added to a72 and a7s cameras too? I find this very helpful on the a7r2

  2. Hi Brian, had an opportunity to see some of your presentations and work at PhotoExpo. Great presentations, thank you for sharing your knowledge with the photographic community. I just received my a7sii and shot a concert last night in uncompressed RAW. Can’t open the files with Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One… any thoughts?
