    1. Aside from Canon, the entire photo universe refers to APS as a 1.5x crop.

      Canon refers to their 1.6x crop sensors as APS-C and their discontinued 1.3x crop sensors as APS-H.

      In real-world terms APS refers to 1.5x crop.

  1. couple of the reviews on B and H say “does not have the hybrid/phase detection focus” like the Sony version of the lens. is there any way to confirm that and should I just pony up for the Sony version at $249?

    1. Once again, this lens is made by Sony and it’s identical to the Sony version which was designed for the original Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 before Phase-Detection was available for E-mount cameras. Either version will function the same.
