As I posted on Monday, DP Review’s Deputy Technical Editor Rishi Sanyal reported that Sigma Mount Converter MC-11 for Sony E-mount ($249 Pre-Order for Canon EF | Sigma SA Mount) is the first lens adapter to support functions like Eye AF and Lock-On AF modes using third party lenses on Sony mirrorless cameras. Rishi’s video posted on DP Review confirms Video PDAF is possible with Sigma Art 35mm F1.4 DSLR lens on a mirrorless Sony camera with Hybrid AF.
Though this still needs to be tested, this in theory could mean Video PDAF is possible on Sony mirrorless cameras that support Hybrid AF which, again in theory, includes Sony a7, a7II, a7RII, a6000 & a6300 using MC-11 and supported Sigma EF and SA lenses listed below.
Sigma’s list of Sigma EF and SA lenses supported on MC-11:
Sigma 24-35mm F2 DG HSM Art Lens
Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM Art Lens
Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens

Notes: MC-11 is not compatible with teleconverters. The MC-11 mount converter has a USB port that allows adapter firmware to updated for compatibility with future Sigma lenses.
